Lately

My schedule has been insanely busy lately, what with working, interning, working more, doing school work, and of course, online shopping (it's really more exhausting than you'd think). I feel as though I've been neglecting my blog because of this crazy schedule, but I've made it my goal to post more in my free time given my much more accommodating Spring schedule.

Here are some of my latest Polyvore creations which I have started pinning obsessively onto my wear it board. And I don't use the word "obsessively" casually. Yeah.

Cheers,

Sam

Because

BECAUSE I LIKE IT, THAT'S WHY

Because I'm up late.
Because I just finished midterms.
Because I'm craving a Cinnamon Dolce Latte from Starbucks.
Because I've been feeling sassy lately and for some reason leather pants seem like a great idea.
Because sweaters.

Because I like it, that's why.

I realize that this post lacks the artistic energy I generally try to bring forth in my posts, but as I debated whether or not I was going to click "publish" I remembered this a personal space for personal things, and this is how I feel right now.

Inspired by my mother, the phrase "because" seemed suddenly to be the only justification I needed.

Also, I realize that the frame, the glasses, and the Starbucks cup are cliche, but all I have to say to that is:

"HIPSTA, PLEASE."

Have a lovely Monday, blogosphere.

En Route for Fall

fall stuffs

1. Warby Parker, Preston in Sandalwood Matte
2. John Galt by Brandy Melville, Cassidy Sweater
3. Free People, Voile Trapeze Slip in Copper
4. Free People, Printed Cord in Burgundy
5. Free People, English Garden Mini Dress in Black
6. Urban Outfitters, Staring at Stars Crepe Open-Back Romper
7. John Galt by Brandy Melville, Angelica Sweater
8. Urban Outfitters, Sparkle and Fade Scenic Vest
9. Urban Outfitters, Ecote Kyle Stud Boot in Black

All of these items are currently en route to my house thanks to the convenience of online shopping (and my handy-dandy URBN inc. employee discount). The only downside to online shopping is the wait. Five to seven business days is a long time for a shopping addict to sit in suspense. And there's also the fact that I have to stealthily sneak the items into my house without my parents knowing I've made the purchases. They don't necessarily approve of my spending all of the money I earned working two jobs this summer on clothing, but hey, better clothes than drugs, right? (too far?)

If there's one thing I learned from my first year of college in LA, it's that during the fall quarter it is H-O-T. I'll probably pair the sweaters with my denim cutoffs and ankle boots or sandals, even though I'd really love to layer them with scarves or collars or heavy moto jackets.

Can't wait to make room in my closet for my new goodies!

Happy weekend!

Cheers,
Sam

A Case of the Lazies

Lazy Day

Lazy Day by bamitssam03 featuring a black bag

This morning I woke up fully intending to conquer the ever-growing number of things on my to-do list, beginning with a trip to the gym, followed by the 6 piles of laundry I have leftover from unpacking from college, followed by phone calls to boring insurance agents. Instead, I spent my day watching three episodes of "Law and Order SVU" and last night's "Jeopardy," downloading new music, reading my brother's copy of the Sherlock Holmes volumes, and baking a batch of chocolate chip cookies. Of course there was some intermittent blog stalking and online window shopping, but ultimately my ass has been firmly glued to my couch  since about 9AM. Surprisingly, I don't feel as guilty as I thought I would for coming down with a case of the lazies, perhaps because I've been to the gym everyday since I returned home from college. Maybe I'll regret my inactivity tomorrow when I step on the scale (because when I say I was "baking cookies" I really mean that half of the cookie dough went into the oven and the other half went into my tummy), but alas there's nothing I can do about it now.

Anyway, this is totally the kind of outfit I would've worn today if I had actually left the house. I've been loving mixed prints as of late, and am craving a good (comfortable) pair of basic heels. Too bad I can't afford them (or anything).
Why am I so poor??
Oh yeah, college.

Pretty Please

I haven't been shopping in TWO WHOLE MONTHS. I think I deserve a little retail therapy during this long  President's Day weekend, especially after a long week of midterms (ok, I had one midterm, but still).
Lately I've been loving pleated faux leather skirts and chunky wrap bracelets, and I absolutely adore these Karen Walker sunnies. They're expensive, but since I lost my Ray-Bans (*sob*) I'm thinking they'd be an excellent Spring/Summer investment.

So far my weekend plans include a nice leisurely run, some pretentious latte sipping at a new brunch spot, and plenty of shopping. Can't wait!

New Fashion Icons

New Fashion

New Fashion by bamitssam03 featuring blazers

As a beginning blogger, I'm constantly looking for inspiration and ways to improve my blog. For this inspiration I turn to the many successful and beautiful ladies who have established themselves as some of the most influential fashion bloggers on the internet. Their outfits are impeccable, their blogs are organized and consistently updated, and their lives seem absolutely fabulous. These are the women who made me want to start my own blog and gave me courage to believe that real girls can have awesome lives too.
Although I spend entirely too much time stalking their lives via the internet rather than doing my homework, I feel incredibly excited every time I discover that they have a new outfit post, or possibly pictures of yummy food.
Hopefully I'll be able to post some actual outfit photos soon, considering that this is a "fashion blog," but until then, I guess I'll just keep making collages on polyvore. Cheers.

Rainy Daze

Rainy Daze

It's raining, it's pouring... and unfortunately for me, class is a thirty minute walk from my dorm. That's not to say I wasn't excited about finally being able to bundle up in warm, chunky knits, long socks, and my favorite boots, however, despite my best efforts, I still ended up drenched by the time I reached my class. And it turns out my favorite rain boots aren't quite suited for the rain anymore, seeing as there is a new hole in the bottom. Of course I found this out the hard way, when I realized that my feet were swimming in mini pools of water after about five minutes. But everything's okay now; I'm sitting in my room wearing sweats, drinking coffee, and lusting over the rainy day clothes I wish I had.
